Frederick Douglass High School, an IB World School, is named after the famous abolitionist, journalist, and orator, Frederick Douglass. Formerly known as Marlboro High School, FDHS was the first high school for African-Americans in Prince George’s County. Frederick Douglass High school is the only High School in PGCPS with two IB programs: Middle Years and Diploma. FDHS also has the highest percentage of students in PGCPS earning IB Diploma (SY 15-16) and a graduation rate of 92.3% which exceeds state and national graduation rates.
